Removing 3d Printer Print Bed Sticker Adhesive

Not a super easy thing to remove. The best method I’ve found so far…

Supplies:

  • Acetone (nail remover works) soaked paper towel on part of the bed will loosen up the glue
  • 3m scrubby cut into small pieces (throw away when they get too sticky)
  • Bucket of warm soapy water
  • Paper towels

Directions:

  1. Carefully remove print bed sticker.  I used a thin utility knife to start the sticker separation from the bed.  Be careful not the scratch the bed!
  2. After removing the print bed sticker place acetone soaked paper towels on part of the bed. Allow it to sit for a couple minutes and loosen up the glue.
  3. Move acetone paper towel to another section of the bed.
  4. In the spot where the glue has been loosened, take a 3m scrubby that has been dipped in the warm soapy water (make sure to squeeze out most of the water). Scrub in small sections varying from circular to back and forth patterns taking care to not get any water or acetone near electronics.
  5. Use paper towels to soak up excess water and loosened glue.
  6. Repeat until bed is clean… it’s going to take a while to get all the adhesive off.
  7. Wipe down bed completely and allow to dry.
  8. Follow up by cleaning whole bed with isopropyl alcohol.
